About

Latent Ecologies of the Mind investigates the symbiotic relationships between humans and the natural world using neuroscientific tools, mathematical models, and digital art. Inspired by ecotones—zones where distinct ecosystems meet—the artwork visualizes how identities, perceptions, and environments continuously reshape one another. Participants’ neural activity guides the morphing of digital entities, revealing a living metaphor for interdependence between humans and ecosystems. Challenging traditional separations between species, the installation portrays humans and the natural world as kin, intertwined through subtle flows of energy and perception. The project received an Honorable Mention from the Art of Neuroscience awards.
